Alonso Vargas is an entrepreneur and investor with more than 20 years’ experience building and scaling businesses, with a current focus on accommodation, real estate and hospitality technology.
He is the co-founder of Smart Suites, a technology-enabled accommodation business providing flexible short- and medium-stay accommodation across South East Queensland. Smart Suites operates a growing portfolio of properties using automation, centralised operations, revenue management and self-service guest technology to deliver a scalable alternative to traditional hotels and serviced apartments.
Alonso’s broader experience includes property acquisition, development, asset optimisation, technology, outsourcing and operational transformation. He also manages investments through the Vargas Family Office, with interests spanning property, private businesses and venture capital.
Today, his focus is on expanding Smart Suites, acquiring and developing accommodation assets, improving hospitality operating models, and investing in businesses and technologies that can reshape how accommodation is delivered.
